Ag in Motion crop plots and demonstrations help with decisions on the farm

Jul 6, 2023 | News

Langham, Sask., July 6, 2023 – When it comes to decisions on the farm, seeing products operating in the field is a great way to get a more complete picture. Side-by-side comparisons and live demonstrations give farmers a quick and easy way to evaluate crops, products and equipment at-a-glance.

According to Rob O’Connor, Show Director for Ag in Motion, this kind of benefit drives the planning behind Ag in Motion as the team and exhibitors place considerable focus on providing hands-on demonstrations in real-world conditions that farmers can see up close.

“In the crop area alone, we have thirty companies with plots growing at Ag in Motion, featuring seed varieties, fertilizers and plant protection products,” says O’Connor. “With so many new developments coming in crop innovation, Ag in Motion provides a convenient one-stop shop for farmers to view and compare many of the new options out there that industry leaders have to offer.”

O’Connor notes that the farm show’s crop plots have become a key way to help inform business decisions for farmers when reviewing what is most suitable for their farming operation. Plots at Ag in Motion demonstrate crops growing in real Saskatchewan conditions such as canola, corn, soybeans, lentils, wheat, winter and spring cereals, flax, pulses and forages. See a list of all crop plot companies at Ag in Motion in 2023 here.

Ag in Motion visitors can also join the daily “Off the Beaten Path Demonstration Research Tour” at 10:00 a.m. or 2:30 p.m. for a tour of the latest in farming innovations and research from Discovery Farm Langham’s partners.

Demonstrations are a highlight of the new area, Irrigation Alley. This area has an indoor pavilion, outdoor exhibits and live demonstrations located at BC Drive and 7th Street all three days of the show, and features irrigation products, water management and drainage exhibitors. Rainfine North America Irrigation Ltd. is one exhibitor that will demonstrate irrigation pivot technology with several different nozzles.

In the Warman Tool Centre, Construction Fasteners and Tools hosts an array of tools, fasteners, safety equipment and more for the farm. This year, to better show how some of the tools perform, Construction Fasteners and Tools is offering daily presentations and live demonstrations of Milwaukee Power Tools and Ucan Fastening products.

Ag in Motion is set to feature other popular attractions such as equipment demonstrations live in the field, the BMO Livestock Central area, two new mobile speaker series and special events that focus on networking and connecting farmers, AgTech companies and entrepreneurs.

Ag in Motion takes place at Discovery Farm Langham from July 18-20, 2023, just northwest of Saskatoon, Sask. For tickets to the show and a detailed overview of the lineup at Ag in Motion 2023, visit aginmotion.ca.
