Saskatoon, Sask., June 24, 2022 – Side-by-side comparisons of seed varieties, fertilizers and plant protection products are undoubtedly a quick and easy way to evaluate crop performance at-a-glance. Thirty-three crop plots are providing this unique opportunity for farmers during Ag in Motion, July 19-21, 2022.
“Thirty-three is a record number of crop plots at Ag in Motion,” says Rob O’Connor, Ag in Motion Show Director. “Farmers will see more than ever before this year and have their eyes opened to some of the new developments coming in crop innovation. It’s a one-stop shop to view and compare what’s new.”
Crop plots are a key way for farmers to inform business decisions for what is most suitable for their farming operation. Plots at Ag in Motion showcase crops such as corn, lentils, barley, mustard, wheat, peas and canola.
Five companies have stepped on board as a new crop plot exhibitor to showcase their latest discoveries in crop health, including Northern Nutrients, Mustard 21 Canada Inc., KOCH Agronomic Services, HumaTerra Regan Ag Inc. and SaskBarley/Sask Wheat.
“These companies are taking a careful look at what grows best under certain conditions, varieties that have higher yield potential, recommendations for application rates and much more,” says O’Connor. “There’s no one-size-fits-all solution, so we anticipate each farmer will bring their own unique questions to receive personalized recommendations for what works for them.”
Additionally, visitors will have the opportunity to join the “Off the Beaten Path Demonstration Research Tour” at 10:00 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. on each day of Ag in Motion for a tour of the latest in farming innovation from Discovery Farm demonstration research partners.
Along with crop plots, Ag in Motion is set to feature other fan-favourite attractions such as equipment demonstrations live in the field, the BMO Livestock Central area, speaker series and special events.
Ag in Motion will take place July 19-21, 2022 at Discovery Farm Langham, located just 15 minutes northwest of Saskatoon, Sask. Tickets to the show and a more detailed overview of what’s happening at Ag in Motion 2022 can be found at aginmotion.ca.
