Only the Show Director will serve as spokesperson for the press. Golden West will broadcast all necessary messages to the public as requested.
During Ag in Motion, Emergency Services (Trans Care) are located on BC Drive and 1st Street (Gate A). If these services are required, Ag in Motion staff carrying 2-way radios, the Show Services Office and Information Booth staff can contact them to assist with the emergency.
Reporting an emergency
Reporting Procedure
Announce on Channel 1
Emergency Reporter: “This is (name), I have an emergency, I am moving to channel 5.”
Move to Channel 5
Emergency Reporter: “This is (name), I have an emergency requiring your services.”
Emergency Service: Respond with “(name), what is your emergency, what is your location?”
Emergency Reporter: Respond with location details, including landmarks are helpful.
Emergency Service: Acknowledge location & provide an ETA
Additional Info
Emergency Commanders to switch to channel 5. AIM staff are to be notified on channel 1 if the situation requires additional assistance.
Emergency Reporter should assist victims as capabilities allow until Emergency Service arrives.
AIM staff to escort emergency services directly to the emergency location if able.
Gate A to be notified if emergency vehicles will be entering or exiting the grounds.
ERT (Emergency Response Team) to remove barricades if emergency vehicles will be entering the site.
Safe shelters & evacuation
Safe Facilities
If a safe shelter is required, the following are the safest locations on the grounds:
- AIM Lounge
- Nutrien Building
- Zaks Building
- The Tool Shed
- Federated Co-op Building
Evacuation & Shelter-in-Place
In the event of an emergency in which evacuation or shelter is necessary, the following should occur:
- Emergency Commander and Show director to meet to discuss the execution details.
- Emergency Commander to announce on 2-way radio advising everyone to leave the grounds as soon as possible or seek shelter.
- Everyone will be advised to seek shelter in the nearest safe facility if on-site shelter is required. The Safest facilities include the Ag in Motion Lounge, Zaks Building, Nutrien Building, Tool Shed and the Federated Co-op Building. Ag in Motion staff are to report to the operations and staff sea cans.
- Show Staff to assist attendees in leaving the grounds in a safe and orderly manner as directed by the Emergency Commander.
If the order is given, all activity must cease. All exit gates must be opened fully.
All Ag in Motion (AIM) functions as well as any gatherings during AIM that exceed 50 participants must notify AIM staff in advance. The following information needs to be on hand in the event of an emergency.

Emergency Meeting Locations
Town of Langham, Affinity Community Hall located at 120 Railway St, Langham, SK S0K 2L0 can accommodate up to 1300. Emergency services and Ag in Motion Staff will provide directions to attendees to locate these facilities.
The Loading Ramp will be used as a staging area if there is a need for quantities of rescue equipment and personnel.

Reporting Procedure
Announce on Channel 1
Emergency Reporter: “This is (name), I have a Code (C or P) requiring emergency services, I am moving to channel 5.”
Move to Channel 5 to report details

Emergency Commander notify gate staff on channel 2 to close all gates and not allow any vehicles to leave grounds and parking fields. Once the details of the missing child have been confirmed all staff must be notified on channel 1. Request a recent photo of the child and text to Emergency Commander to circulate to Ag in Motion staff.
All show staff and volunteers should be observant towards unaccompanied children or children being held against their will.

Announcements
Announcements for Lost Child:
If the child’s name is known, “Could (name of person) please come to the site office.” If child’s name is unknown, “Please remember this is a busy event, if you have been separated from a family member go to the site office, an information booth or find an Ag in Motion staff to assist you.”
Weather
Lighting Within 24- or 16-Kilometers Announcement:
“May I have your attention please? There is a lightning storm within 24 or 16 kilometers of the area. Please be alert and have a plan to move to a safe facility or your vehicle. Tents are transparent to lightning; they are not a safe place to shelter. The following are the safest facilities on site, AIM Lounge, Nutrien Building, Zaks Building, The Tool Shed or your personal vehicle.”

“May I have your attention please? There is a lightning storm occurring in the area. Currently, we ask that you move to your vehicle immediately. If this is not an option take shelter in the nearest safe facility. Tents are transparent to lightning; they are not a safe shelter. The following are the safest facilities on site, AIM Lounge, Nutrien Building, Zaks Building, The Tool Shed or your personal vehicle. Please refrain from utilizing telephones, cellular phones, or any other electronic devices.”
Wind Warning (Greater Than 50 km/hour) Announcement:
“May I have your attention please? Wind speeds have exceeded 50 KM/hour. If wind speeds progress to greater than 64 KM, we will be asking you to move to your vehicles for safety. Currently, we ask that you be alert and be prepared to move to your vehicle.”
WINDS GREATER THAN 64 KM/HOUR ANNOUNCEMENT:
“May I have your attention please? Wind speeds have exceeded 64 KM/hour. Currently, we ask that you move to your vehicle for safety. Again, wind speeds have exceeded 64 KM/hour, please move to your vehicle. If this is not an option, the following are the safest facilities on site, AIM Lounge, Nutrien Building, Zaks Building, The Tool Shed. Our team will notify you when it is safe to come back into the trade show area.”
Tornado Watch Announcement:
“May I have your attention please? A tornado watch has been issued for our area. Currently, we ask that you evacuate the show grounds. If you can get to your vehicle immediately, please do so. If this is not an option take shelter in the nearest safe facility. The following are the safest facilities on site: AIM Lounge, Nutrien Building, Zaks Building, The Tool Shed or your personal vehicle.”
Tornado Warning Announcement:
“May I have your attention please? A tornado warning has been issued for our area. Everyone should seek shelter immediately. The following are the safest facilities on site: AIM Lounge, Nutrien Building, Zaks Building, The Tool Shed or your personal vehicle.”

Evacuation Announcement:
“May I have your attention please? Show management requires you to evacuate the event site immediately due to (provide specific details, bomb threat, etc.) We ask that you remain calm and proceed immediately to the closest exit.”
During a Shelter-In-Place:
“May I have your attention please? The show grounds are currently under a shelter-in-place state. If you are not in a safe facility you need to move to one immediately. The following are the safest facilities on site, AIM Lounge, Nutrien Building, Zaks Building, The Tool Shed or your personal vehicle. The shelter-in-place will be in effect until it is deemed safe.”
If this is for lighting: “the shelter-in-place will be lifted 30 minutes after the last lighting strike within 12 KM.”
