Once again, Saskatoon Regional Economic Development Authority (SREDA) is pleased to take a leading role in supporting ingenuity and innovation in the Saskatchewan agriculture sector through our involvement in the 2019 Ag in Motion™ Innovations Program.
Ag in Motion award winning companies, along with all of the contest finalists, continue to demonstrate the remarkable homegrown technological prowess of Saskatchewan’s agriculture community.
The Ag in Motion Innovation Program recognizes companies for their creative solutions that assist with agriculture sector advances in four unique areas.
Awards will be presented to pioneering technologies that have the potential to positively impact and advance the agriculture industry in the following areas:
- Plant and Soil Science: a technology that improves crop production including innovation in genetics, pesticide application (non-mechanical) and the process of producing a crop
- Animal and Livestock: a technology that assists in the health and well-being of livestock animals
- Agriculture Equipment: a new equipment concept or technology that assists farmers and agriculture professionals with farming application
- Agribusiness Services: a new technology that assists farmers and agriculture professionals with the management of their farm business and clients
In addition to the 2019 Ag in Motion Innovations Program, SREDA will be hosting six international agriculture technology companies as part of its third annual HARVEST, SREDA’s Agriculture Technology Program. SREDA, with the support of the Government of Saskatchewan and other industry partners, is attracting the attention of companies worldwide to travel to Saskatoon to be a part of Ag in Motion, showcase their agriculture innovations and learn more about Saskatchewan agriculture and technology landscapes.
Winners of SREDA’s HARVEST program will be on display at the Innovation in Agriculture Reception on Monday, July 15, and in the FCC Ag Pavilion throughout Ag in Motion. Stop by and meet these companies and learn more about their exciting innovations.
The future of the agriculture industry depends on advancements in agriculture, as producers strive to feed the world,” says Alex Fallon, SREDA President and CEO. “The Saskatoon Region is a hub for world-class agriculture innovations and innovators, so it’s not a surprise that the HARVEST program is attracting companies from around the world to learn more about what is going on right here on the prairies.”
