Picketa Systems Inc | Leaf-Evaluated-Nutrient-System (LENS)

Is the product or service patented, patent pending, granted an industrial design or copyrighted? Yes in 2024

Before Picketa Systems, the only way to perform plant and soil analysis was traditional lab testing. Growers hire third parties to collect plant and soil samples and ship them to a lab for analysis. This process is not only costly but also time-consuming. The turnaround time for lab analysis sent by courier can range between three to ten business days, enough time for the plant composition to change and invalidate the laboratory results. Therefore, there was no reliable way for growers to access crucial information that would otherwise allow them to maximize their yields while minimizing their costs. That is why only 20% of the Canadian agricultural land is currently being monitored. Growers refuse to participate in the plant monitoring program because the information takes too long to return.

Picketa Systems has developed a cutting-edge solution for the agriculture industry with their real-time plant tissue analysis system. The product, called LENS, uses a combination of optical sensing and machine learning to rapidly analyze the nutrient concentrations in plants. By providing same-day results, the LENS system enables growers, agronomists, and agri-businesses to make quick and informed decisions about their nutrient and fertilizer programs. The platform records and manages the data, which users can access through an online dashboard, allowing them to monitor and optimize field performance while reducing their environmental impact. Picketa Systems’ innovative product is designed to make technology and data easily accessible for everyone in the agriculture industry.

Purpose

Picketa Systems purpose is to transform agronomy’s status quo and unlock its untapped potential through technological advancement. Picketa Systems Inc. offers a decision support system for growers, crop consultants, and other agriculture businesses. The system integrates a plant tissue analysis tool, called the LENS, capable of delivering results within minutes and an online dashboard where users can view their results, identify trends or nutrient deficiencies, and ultimately better manage their crop inputs.

  • Economical: Annual subscription enables unlimited testing of different plant parts, production zones, and crop stages.
  • Versatile: Provides both in-field leaf tissue and soil analysis with one device in minutes, revolutionizing crop nutrition management.

Purpose

Knowing the nutritional status of your crop is vital in driving its genetic potential. Leaf tissue sampling of young and old leaves can proactively diagnose a nutritional problem before you can visually see it with your own eyes. A leaf tissue analysis program provides valuable insights into the effectiveness of your soil fertility program and identifies necessary nutrients throughout the growing season to enhance crop quality and yield.

Despite the benefits, less than 5% of cereal, oilseed, and row crops undergo annual leaf tissue analysis. The primary reasons for this low adoption rate are the delay in receiving lab results and confusion over the interpretation of the results. NutriScan leaf tissue analysis revolutionizes in-crop nutrition management. This technology measures both plant and soil nutrient status in real-time, using the same equipment, and provides clear, easy-to-understand results and fertility recommendations.

BASF Canada | RevyPro® Fungicide

Reports of anthracnose fungicide resistance within lentils began in 2019, adding to the Group 11 fungicide challenges already known in field peas (Mycosphaerella) and chickpeas (Ascochyta). This caused a pivot in BASF’s fungicide innovation to help pulse growers in Western Canada address these growing resistance challenges.

BASF’s goal in the development of RevyPro was to create a product that would provide efficacy no matter the crop, disease, or pathogen resistance status, to equip western Canadian growers with an enhanced solution to address the local disease challenges they face.

RevyPro provides a new standard for disease management in pulses, with proven performance on all major pulse diseases regardless of pathogen’s Group 11 resistance status. RevyPro is powered by Revysol, a new, unique Group 3 active ingredient. The first isopropanol azole available in Canada, its flexible structure improves binding ability providing broader, longer and stronger activity.

In 27 head-to-head comparisons on field peas in 2023, RevyPro won 70% of the time against the current market leaders, averaging a 1.1 bu/ac advantage. On lentils, RevyPro provided an average 11% increase in yield versus untreated over 28 grower scale trials within the 2022-2023 seasons, despite overall dry conditions.

With its unique formulation designed specifically for Western Canadian pulses, RevyPro provides a needed tool to help reduce the impact of Group 11 resistance.

Purpose

The first Canadian Revysol®-based pulse fungicide, RevyPro pulse fungicide provides consistent performance on early and late western Canadian pulse diseases, including resistant strains.

Key benefits of Revysol, the active ingredient in RevyPro, include:

  • the ability to adjust and bind strongly to pathogens for both curative and preventative activity to help protect yields;
  • fast uptake and activity followed by long-lasting control; and
  • control of a wider range of diseases, allowing consistent performance regardless of which diseases are present.

Revysol’s unique, flexible structure allows it to bind to the target site—the pathogen—more powerfully than conventional triazole (FRAC Group 3) fungicides.

CropScanAg | CropScanAg "On combine grain analyzer"

The CropScanAg system can now be fitted to virtually any combine on the market. It provides incredibly accurate moisture, protein, oil, fiber, and starch readings and provides accurate data to the combine operator every 3 – 5 seconds in real time using Near Infrared technology. Having this data available on the combine gives a truly innovative option that has not existed until now.

Purpose

The protein information that the CropScanAg provides is proving itself to be a highly valuable layer for precision ag and is a fundamental piece of the puzzle to assess field performance, nitrogen use efficiency and future fertilizer strategies. Recognizing this, CropScanAg has developed the N-GAUGE app to bring all of the harvest data together. Our app generates prescription maps from harvest data and syncs with various online equipment manufacturer platforms. This helps the grain producer to determine where the fields may have excess amounts of nitrogen (which is linked directly to protein) as well as areas of the fields that could use more nitrogen to help with yield production. Excessive amounts of nitrogen has become a major concern not only due to the costs involved but also regarding the concern about air and water pollution that excessive nitrogen can contribute to.

Taurus Agricultural Marketing Inc | Trace Complete

Trace Complete is a groundbreaking innovation for Canadian growers and the entire Canadian agriculture industry. Once implemented, it influences every agronomic decision on a farm by providing growers with deep insights into soil profiles at a DNA level. Think of Trace Genomics as the 23andMe test for soil. Trace has developed a soil testing platform that utilizes artificial intelligence to identify microbes and genetic mutations that either cause or protect against disease. This technology enables data-driven insights into soil health and methods to enhance crop quality, including yield and shelf life. Before Trace Complete, insights into soil were limited to chemical levels. Trace Complete uses metagenomic sequencing (DNA tests) to precisely analyze and report on seven key areas: Biologicals, Nitrogen Stabilizers, In-season Disease Management, Seed Treatment, Seed Selection, Phosphorus Fertilizers, and Phosphorus Liberating Agents.

Trace Complete stands out as an innovative solution for several reasons:

  • DNA-Level Insights: Trace Complete provides detailed insights into soil profiles at the DNA level, going beyond traditional soil chemistry tests. This allows for a more comprehensive understanding of soil health.
  • Advanced Technology: Utilizing metagenomic sequencing, Trace Complete can accurately identify and quantify a wide range of soil microbes and genetic markers. This advanced technology ensures precise and reliable data.
  • Artificial Intelligence Integration: The platform uses artificial intelligence to analyze soil samples, identifying microbes and genetic mutations that affect crop health. This AI-driven approach offers more accurate and actionable insights.
  • Comprehensive Soil Health Analysis: Trace Complete reports on seven key areas crucial for agronomic decisions: Biologicals, Nitrogen Stabilizers, In-season Disease Management, Seed Treatment, Seed Selection, Phosphorus Fertilizers, and Phosphorus Liberating Agents. This holistic approach covers all critical aspects of soil health.
  • Benchmarking and Comparison: The platform includes a benchmarking feature that allows growers to compare their soil health metrics with other fields in their region. This comparative analysis helps in making informed decisions and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: By providing precise data on soil health, Trace Complete enables growers to make informed, data-driven decisions. This reduces guesswork and trial-and-error approaches, leading to more efficient and effective farming practices.
  • Enhanced Crop Quality and Yield: The insights provided by Trace Complete help in optimizing soil health, which in turn enhances crop quality, yield, and shelf life. This leads to better overall farm productivity and profitability.
  • Sustainability: By understanding soil health at a deeper level, growers can implement more sustainable farming practices. This includes targeted use of fertilizers and biologicals, reducing environmental impact and promoting long-term soil health.

These factors collectively make Trace Complete a revolutionary tool in the field of agriculture, transforming how growers understand and manage their soil.

Trace Complete was launched in Canada by Taurus Agricultural Marketing Inc on August 24th 2023.

Purpose

Let’s use Biologicals as an example: In recent years, many new biological products have been introduced to the market, leaving growers wondering which ones to add to their soil. Will a particular biological perform as well in their fields as it does in trials? Trace Genomics removes the guesswork from this decision-making process. With a Trace Complete test, growers or their agronomists can determine if a biological is present in their field. They can also see if the biological is below, at, or above threshold levels compared to other fields in their zone, thanks to the benchmarking feature on the Trace Genomics portal.

As a second example, let’s consider Nitrogen Management. It is well-known but often under-implemented that nitrogen loss is a concern for both the environment and growers’ profitability. One factor contributing to nitrogen loss is the presence of Nitrosomonas bacteria. Trace Complete identifies if Nitrosomonas bacteria are present in the soil and measures their concentration relative to your fields and neighboring fields using the anonymized benchmarking tool. When Nitrosomonas bacteria are detected, products like Nitrapyrin, DCD, and DMPP can inhibit their activity, keeping nitrogen in place and available for crop uptake. Nitrogen-stabilizing products were previously either avoided entirely or used uniformly across operations. Access to this precise information allows for informed, targeted decisions on every acre.

Annelida Soil Solutions | AnneMaxx Ag Product Line

We divert over 120,000lbs per week of organics from going into landfills, and use this to feed our 100,000 Red Wiggler worms at our two indoor worm farms.  We harvest about 100,000lbs/week of pure worm castings (worm poo!), and make an organic product to assist in growing more food!  Essentially using food-waste to grow more food.  The worms diet of 10 different ingredients fed every day make for a very specific and consistent product.  With superior quality control the same product is harvested day after day, month after month, year after year.  Our worm castings are one of the most biologically diverse products tested to date.  We combine them into Ag-Friendly granular and liquid products that work seamlessly with existing agriculture equipment (sprayers, drills, spreaders etc) making their use in broad scale agriculture a cinch!  By using our products growers can begin to rebuild their soil microbiome, and ultimately reduce the reliance on the use of synthetic inputs.

Purpose

By supplementing and feeding the soils microbiology, and once again giving it purpose, we see a dramatic change in soil quality within the first season.  Once we stimulate the soil microbiome, we see a flywheel effect that continues into the following years.  By using natural biology paired with the appropriate food source, and not something fabricated in a lab, mother nature’s flywheel gains momentum year after year, improving soil quality, making the organic matter usable, increasing humic and fulvic content, increasing water holding capacity, and increasing crop yield and quality.

Farm Fresh Water | Sunmill

In the prairies aeration significantly improves the quality of  dugout water for house or spraying. We have used windmills in the past with limited success due to high winds and repair parts needing to be high in the air. Making servicing difficult and not safe. The sunill uses new technology which allows us to produce aeration with easy to service parts. The high amount os sunshine in the prairies gives us a good amount of run time without the use of batteries.

Purpose

Dugouts or service water quality is greatly improved by adding oxygen. In turn this feeds the microbes that work to improve water quality. A proper aeration system also eliminates stratification layers in a dugout making the entire dugout good quality water. For spraying or house water this lowers the amount of organics and particulates in the water.

Thunderstruck Ag Equipment | TNT Cover Plates

The TNT Cover Plates for Concaves represent a significant innovation in agricultural technology by fundamentally altering how single-rotor machines deliver material to sieves. Traditional single-rotor machines often face issues with sieve losses due to imbalanced grain delivery from the concaves. The innovative design of these cover plates ensures a balanced load across all sieves, evenly distributing the grain and preventing the overloading of any one side. This results in a larger sieving area, better grain-material separation, and substantially less loss out of the back of the combine. The plates also enhance the threshing area without excessively reducing the concave separation area, showcasing a dual improvement in both grain delivery and threshing efficiency.

Our Cover Plates have a unique design with openings in different spots on the plates that direct and force grain to unload in a certain place on the shoe augers. Other plates that are on the market have openings or are fixed/adjustable however they are designed to provide more threshing or less threshing based on sample quality. Our cover plates provide the sample quality as well as the ability to balance the sieves and increase the separating area of the concaves.

The purpose of the TNT Cover Plates for Concaves is to optimize the performance of single-rotor combines by improving the balance and efficiency of grain delivery to the sieves. These cover plates ensure even distribution of grain, preventing overload on one side and enhancing the overall sieving area. They are designed to improve grain-material separation and reduce losses during harvesting. Specifically, the plates cater to different crop needs, including those harvested in hot, dry conditions, and are particularly beneficial in maintaining the quality of grain samples, such as reducing white caps in wheat. The flexibility of the cover plates allows them to be adjusted according to specific crops and conditions, promoting smarter and more efficient harvesting practices.

Purpose

Our cover plates drop the grain evenly across the sieves, preventing the overloading of one side. The result? A larger sieving area, better grain-material separation, and significantly less loss out of the back.

Our number one and two cover plates are designed for all crops.

Extensive testing has demonstrated that these plates do more than just optimize grain delivery – they also enhance the threshing area of the Concaves, without overly reducing the concave separation area.

The design of our third and fourth plates perfectly meet the challenges of hot, dry conditions – for instance, when harvesting canola or other small grains such as wheat.

These plates delay the grain’s descent onto the sieve area, significantly improving the quality of grain sample in the tank. They are a huge advantage when trying to tackle white caps in your wheat sample.

We know every field and every crop is different, which is why our cover plates are flexible to your needs. Remember, the more you close up your Concaves, the higher the risk of rotor loss- so use only as required for your specific crop and conditions.

Our new cover plates for Concaves aren’t just an accessory, they are a revolution in harvest technology. Don’t just harvest – harvest smarter with our cover plates. Your crops, your machinery, and your bottom line will thank you.

Farmoury Sales and Consignments | Green Lightning Nitrogen

On farm nitrate production:  A revolutionary, patented technology that will transform the farming industry, while placing control and profits back into the farmer’s hands.

Completely Green – no salt content or salinity, no N2O (nitrous oxide) emissions, eco-friendly.

Solving the need for a more efficient nitrogen source arises from the environmental impact of traditional synthetic fertilizers, including water pollution and greenhouse gas emissions.  Thus putting Farmers back in control of their nitrogen costs and usage, to be more profitable.

Purpose

Green Lightnings technology mimics the natural process of nitrogen fixation, where lightning activates nitrogen molecules in the air to combine with water, forming a plant-usable form of nitrate nitrogen.  The natural event is replicated using a controlled electric field, allowing air and water to react in a way that produces nitrogen-rich nitrate.  Significant benefits through natural nitrogen fixation enhances soil fertility without the negative effects of synthetic nitrogen.  It reduces costs by generating nitrogen on-site (on-farm), cutting down on transportation and purchase expenses.  Moreover, it improves plant health by providing a more natural form of nitrogen, leading to a better absorption and plant health.  Ultimately contributing to higher yields and more sustainable farming practices.

Powered by a 775-horsepower FPT Industrial Cursor 16 engine, 2×24-inch rotors, 567-bushel grain tank and a 6 bushels per second unload rate, the CR11 combine significantly increases productivity to levels that have not been achieved before. The launch of the CR11 also marks the beginning of a new era in Twin Rotor technology, the industry-leading threshing and grain separation system New Holland pioneered 50 years ago. The CR11 features all-new Twin Rotor technology created specifically for the CR11 combine to ensure it delivers the highest productivity with the best grain quality on the market.

Purpose

The CR11 was designed in anticipation of the harvesting demands of the future. We know farmers are seeking greater capacity, lower grain loss and maximum protection of grain quality, and the CR11 delivers on each of those requirements.

Advance Tank Production Ltd. | Bio-Gas Manure Tank Trailer

This innovation addresses the need for efficiency and environmental responsibility in agricultural transportation. By optimizing the pumping capacity of trailers, it minimizes the time required for loading and unloading, thereby reducing carbon emissions from trucks. Additionally, by efficiently capturing methane from manure, it contributes to greenhouse gas reduction. Overall, this innovation enhances delivery productivity while lessening the environmental impact of transportation.

Purpose

This product serves the purpose of facilitating the transportation of liquid manure from farms to bio-gas facilities for methane production. It then facilitates the return of the resulting digestate to the farm as eco-friendly fertilizer. By harnessing methane for home heating and other applications instead of releasing it into the atmosphere, the product helps minimize greenhouse gas emissions and reduces reliance on other energy sources.
