ON THE ROAD WITH CROP AND MARKET ANALYST BRUCE BURNETT

by | Jul 4, 2017 | News

By the time Ag in Motion™ gets rolling, Glacier FarmMedia’s new director of weather and markets information Bruce Burnett will have logged 4,000 km across Western Canada to prepare his assessment of the 2017 crop.

Join Bruce for a report on crop conditions and the market outlook 1:30 pm daily at the WeatherFarm demonstration site (same location as the Grainews Machinery Challenge) at Booth #463 just north of Alberta Drive on 4th Street.

Bruce joined the GFM markets team in March after a long career providing similar analysis for farmers and the grain industry while working for the Canadian Wheat Board and later G3.

He will provide his view on the impact of late seeding in the northern Prairies and dry spring weather in parts of the southern Prairies. He will also summarize the current Canadian grain and oilseed supply situation and examine the impacts of the 2017 crop on Canadian markets.

Bruce will put what’s happening here in Western Canada into a global context with an update on growing conditions and the impact on supply and demand balances in key regions. Topics will include an update on the world durum situation, southern hemisphere corn and soybean potential and the wheat harvest results from Europe and the USA.
