Speakers highlight tips for seeding success at first Ag in Motion digital event

Saskatoon, SK., March 18, 2021 – Farmers looking for practical seeding tips and information to get ready for a successful season this spring can attend the first Ag in Motion digital event on Wednesday, March 24.

Speakers at the March 24 digital event day will discuss topics on the theme Planting Kick Off – Profiting Through Incremental Gains. Keynote sessions include tips on maximizing profits on the farm through small changes that can be made at the start of the season, plus a future-focused presentation on what’s coming down the pipeline for autonomous agricultural equipment.

Highlights include:

  • A Penny-Pincher’s Guide to Seeding Efficiency: practical tips to put more dollars in farmers’ hands, featuring Nathan Gregg, farmer and former researcher with the Prairie Agricultural Machinery Institute.
  • The Next Generation of Autonomous Ag: machinery writer Scott Garvey leading a discussion with representatives from John Deere and AGCO about the latest developments for the agricultural sector.
  • Get Ready for Seeding with Bayer and Climate FieldView™: hear about seed treatment tips, best practices for storage and getting the most value out of farm data in 2021.
  • Using IoT Devices and Solutions in Wheat Seeding and Planting Operations: how to improve wheat seeding and emergence for successful crop establishment with METOS® Canada.
  • Registered attendees can also view sessions hosted by SeedNet, MarketsFarm and Gowan.

“Spring is a crucial time on the farm, and we’ve reached out to speakers to share tips on practical things farmers can do at this time of year to set them up for success at harvest,” says Lynda Tityk, Executive Vice-President of Glacier FarmMedia.

Tityk notes that the March 24 event is just the first of many digital events throughout the year where farmers can attend themed event days in different months, and return when it’s convenient to watch sessions, see new on-demand content, attend pop-up events and check out exclusive show offers. Farmers can register for a free Ag in Motion ‘digital pass’ for access to key information until December 31, 2021.

A new interactive feature on digital event days is the virtual Coffee Shop that gives farmers an informal way to connect with each other through video chat. Farmers, speakers and industry reps can mingle in a room with small virtual tables in the Coffee Shop to catch up and have face-to-face conversations.

Throughout 2021, Ag in Motion will produce six themed digital event days on topics around seeding, growing, research, livestock, harvest and innovation. Registration for the Ag in Motion Digital Pass, and information on the March 24 digital event, is available at aginmotion.ca.
