Speakers at the Wednesday, June 23 digital event day will share information on topics around the theme Getting on with Growing – Vigilance in Crop Care, presented by xarvio Digital Farming Solutions. Keynote sessions include tips on implementing variable rate agronomy on your farm, and work being done to revise crop macro- and micronutrient uptake and removal guidelines for 14 crops grown in Western Canada. Several key industry companies will share timely information to help farmers in season.

Highlights include:

  • Variable Rate & Precision Ag: Think About Your Thinking: Dennis Bulani, prairie pioneer of variable rate agronomy, discusses what he has learned about zone management, plus the opportunities and obstacles of implementing variable rate agronomy on your farm.
  • Revising the Crop Nutrient Uptake and Removal Guidelines for Western Canada: Fran Walley, Professor at the University of Saskatchewan, will share a project plan for ensuring guidelines for crop nutrient uptake and removal reflect current crop varieties and yields, fertilizer application rates and crop management practices in farm fields.
  • Registered attendees can also view sessions hosted by Bayer, Corteva Agriscience, xarvio™ Digital Farming Solutions, RBC and Field of STARS, presented by Bayer.

“Farmers always face a great deal of decisions once cropping is underway,” says Lynda Tityk, Executive Vice-President of Glacier FarmMedia. “We want to share essential information that can help farmers when they are out in the field making choices based on what they are seeing.”

Tityk notes that the June 23 digital event is fully mobile so that farmers can view the content on the go on their mobile devices, or come back to the information on their laptops as their schedule allows. The June Ag in Motion digital event is the second of six events planned throughout the year.

The Ag in Motion digital events are free to attend and farmers only need to register once for a ‘digital pass’ at aginmotion.ca. Registration gives farmers all-year access to past sessions and first-to-hear notification for future sessions and special offers. Throughout 2021, six themed Ag in Motion digital event days will cover topics on seeding, growing, research, livestock, harvest and innovation. Information will be available online until December 31, 2021.
